Afon Mawddach 10th april

Tried the river mawddach in north wales today.
This is primally a salmon and seatrout river
but i noticed the evening before trout rising
just below the bridge.
trying a mixture of dry and nymphs for a couple
of hours with no takes or signs of fish.
is'nt that the case when you are not fishing
signs of fish but none when you are eager too
catch something.
I fished this water with my derbyshire county
angling club ticket which as 2 season rods.
i would like to try this stretch again because it
looks very promising for trout.
If any members are intrested in fishing this venue
it is on the A470 near to the tyn n groes park
(spelling)with facilities, toilets ,undercover shelter
even a barbecue pit.

  1. Norwegian flyfisher like your story

not that good in English, but anyway…

My name is Kim Huset I’m 40 years old and live in Oslo, Norway. Fly fishing and fly tying has been my biggest hobby for the last 26 years. A childhood dream of mine was to go fishing in British calk streams. Now I finally got a golden uppertunity to check it out.

Thursday 17th of April I’m going to Birningham for a short business trip that ends on Friday 18th at lunch time. I’ve decided to stay over until Sunday that weekend. My flight leaves at Sunday seven in the evening from nottinghampshire.

I’m a part of a fly fishing movie project for the national tv and dvd market back in Norway. I would love to look at some locations that might become a part of the film we’re making. I will travel up to Nottinghampshire Friday and was wondering what you might recommend me to look at in that area, or nearby.

What about Derbyshire, Gloucestershire and Dove and the lake district area, is that places you would recommend?

Mulberry-Whin is also a place I think looks fantastic although it’s farther north.

The important thing for me is if you have any tips about accomadation, not to expensive fishing, and areas where you know things are happening. I would love to meet you as well if you have the time and uppertunity to do so. Matching the hatch

    Flyfishing regards from
